Hello again friends! It’s time for Christmas Playlist #2! I call it the Classic Christmas aka the Oldies.
Now this playlist is a little different than the last one (which you can find here). While there are a few albums included, there are also plenty of individual songs that just sound like Christmas morning to me. You can follow this playlist on my Spotify here. Let’s dive in!
A few good albums you’ll find on the playlist
Here are three complete Christmas albums you will find in this playlist. First we have Bing Crosby Christmas.
Nothing quite says Christmas like Bing Crosby. I mean for crying out loud, “White Christmas” is one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time!! Bing is truly a legend. And just to prove it to you, here is a little clip from White Christmas. Just listen to that voice!! And if that didn’t convince you, here is another song not on this album, but included in this playlist. It could be the hormones, but that one just makes me tear up! Doesn’t his voice just make you want to snuggle up by the fireplace with a cup of cocoa??
Next up, another classic Christmas album by Elvis Presley!
This album just sounds like a Christmas party to me. When I listen to Elvis sing his Christmas songs I can just see family gathered together on Christmas Eve laughing and feasting. I see kids running up the stairs on Christmas morning to see what Santa brought them. Here is one of the songs you’ll find on this album. How about that throw back? Long live the King.
Next up, Nat King Cole!
I feel like this playlist is getting progressively more soulful. If anyone brings the soul, it’s Nat King Cole! I am a huge fan of the MoTown sound, classic R&B, and Jazz. Nat King Cole is the other King. Here is a song for you to enjoy from his album.
A few singles you’ll find on the playlist
There are plenty of amazing single Christmas songs I could include in this playlist, but here are a few of my favorites you’ll find included:
“The Man With the Bag” by Kay Starr
This song is a classic in my home. My mom and I both love this song and can sing it by heart every Christmas season.
“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee
This song is found in every Christmas movie ever. Makes me want to get up and dance!
“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams
Okay, first of all can we please take a moment to appreciate that music video! #Dying But really, when I hear this song come on the radio, I can’t help but sing along. And I also agree, the holiday season is the MOST wonderful time of the year!
